-Activity Aides
IHS is blessed to have various shelter sites scattered across the eastern part of Honolulu. We are looking for volunteers to come into these spaces and help us with various activities and/or learning opportunities for our guests. These serve a two-fold purpose, 1) it helps to expand our guests' sense of community, and 2) our guests can engage in different activities that they enjoy or try something new.
Examples of how you can help include:
Physical activities - Hula, Zumba, Yoga, Stretching
Knitting/Crochet classes
Arts and crafts
All ideas are welcome!
-IHS Ambassadors
This program is targeted to our youth under the age of 16 who would like to support our organization's efforts. We are always in need of supplies for our guests and clients getting housed, and you can help. Ambassadors will learn more about the work that IHS does, be able to share this information with those in their spheres of influence, and play a crucial in helping us coordinate donation drives at their schools, churches, and within their communities.
-Meal Sponsorship & Service
Our Meal Program is the heart of IHS, an organization that began with Father Claude duTiel serving peanut butter sandwiches to the houseless community in Chinatown. Today, our Meal Program serves over 300,000 meals a year to our guests at our various locations. We are asking for help with monthly Sack Lunch donations, starting with 50 per month, or more if you are able to do so. Sack Lunches can include a sandwich, a snack, a piece of fruit, and some vegetables. Every little bit that comes in goes a long way to supporting the efforts of this incredible team.
Instructions: If interested in any of the volunteer opportunities listed above, fill out the form below with your contact information and identify the organization or program you'd like to help. Under the section labelled "What Services Are You Seeking" select "Social Enrichment".
